Why you should support
Columbus has the opportunity to lead the nation as a progressive, diverse, safe, sustainable and technology-friendly city. I am committed to the pursuit of real and meaningful change to improve the lives of youth and families. I have worked as a community organizer and with the Columbus City School Board. In 2015, I earned a Master’s of Public Affairs from the University of Texas. In combining my direct experience and education, I have the knowledge and values to help move Columbus in a more progressive direction.
I have deep love for Columbus. Our schools, churches, recreation centers and incredible citizens have shaped me into the person I am today. The people of Columbus are diverse, resilient, caring, and genuine. We work hard, play hard, and always make sure that family is at the center of everything we do.
As the economic engine of the state, Columbus provides good opportunities to many of its citizens. Unfortunately, many working-class households and neighborhoods of color are not benefiting from the recent growth. There are parts of the city that have been forgotten by the political and economic establishment. I intend to lift the voices of the people, everyday folks working hard to provide for their families and push for proven and progressive solutions to our current problems. Columbus has the opportunity to lead the nation as a progressive, diverse, safe, sustainable and technology-friendly city, but we must hold fast to the commitment that everyone deserves to benefit from the growth.
